WORK / 1970-82

Already in 1966 he had started to mix into his sculptuure-paintings what he called “art-gandul”. This is the line in which he worked with most illusion. It is the use of old utensils, objects which are no longer used. “Poor art”, the art of recycling, ephemeral art. As he says: painting without painting. He would, of course, paint and draw but always on a base of utensils which he would manipulate, composing them, creating a new work. This is “Ready-Made” which as Marcel Duchamp says: “Normal object promoted to the dignity of art object by the simple choice of the artist: making use of a Rembrandt as an ironing board”.
